Women make up two-thirds of illiterate people
Only 39% of rural girls attend secondary school
Every year of primary school increases girls' wages by 10-20%
Rural girls are twice as likely as urban girls to be out of school
The resource disparity between the upper and lower classes of developing countries has a substantial negative impact on the female population. Many women living in rural India have little to no say in anything concerning their homes or work. The root of this problem comes from a lack of female education.
"The best way to uplift an impoverished section of society is through education. That is our mission here at Inspire A Girl."
Anoushka Makkad - Founder
Our goal is to provide an education for girls who lack the ability to receive it themselves for financial reasons. Their access to proper education will help them become productive members of society.
We sponsored an eighth-grader named Surbhi who lost her father a few years ago. Her mother was struggling to pay her tuition without the aid of her father. We provided the financial means for her to get the education she deserves.
